Here at White Mountains Ranch we love our goats and keep a small herd of purebred pedigreed Nubians for our own milking and dairy needs, as well as selling extra babies for others who would like their own milking goats. We breed for temperament, conformation and milking ability. Our Nubians are kept on a diet of alfalfa, organic dairy goat grain, organic black oil sunflower seeds, organic flaxseed, kelp, and goat minerals. Additionally, our entire herd is tested for CAE, CL, and Johne's Disease each year. We have a 100% clean herd.
Aurora is one of our senior does. She scored A++A 79 as a second freshening 2 year old, though we expect her next scores to increase as she matures. Her lines tend to be "ugly ducklings", and not really bloom until about three years old. While not quite as nice as her dam, she makes up for it in personality and with the quality of her daughters! They have all been retained and are proving to be valuable assets to our herd. Aurora has good strong feet and legs, a pretty head and she's wide everywhere! We fully expect to be keeping her and her doelings in the herd indefinitely. She milks an easy gallon at peak and is one of our easiest does to hand milk. Aurora has been our favorite since she was a baby.
